Swoon-Worthy Trends for 2019
Casee attended the 2019 Special Event conference in San Diego earlier this month. She joined over 4,000 talented and esteemed event professionals at the industry’s largest conference and tradeshow. At the conference, Casee took advantage of some of the best event educational opportunities in the world and shared that knowledge with our team to develop extraordinary meetings and events for our clients.
1. The two best words to describe 2019 would be maximalism and hygge.
Maximalism refers to the aesthetics of more is more (Goodbye Minimalism!).
Incorporating Maximalism: You want your event to dazzle the eye from ceiling to floor while energizing all your senses. Maximalism could be using one item or color over and over again to the extreme, or using excessive amounts of color, patterns, and textures all layered on top of each other. The possibilities are endless!
Hygge refers to the art of creating intimacy through cozy and peaceful décor and elements.
Incorporating Hygge: Let your guests find joy in every moment by using hygge style. For example, creating a space with a neutral color scheme and spa-like atmosphere. Add a soft cushions and a “fireplace”, and the essentials are all there!
2. In 2019, say goodbye to themes. That’s right, themes are out! This year is all about mixing in different accents and decades.
Incorporating “No Themed” events: That may sound intimidating, but UV’s in-house creative team knows how to build and layer the perfect mix to accomplish your event goals. Whether they are mixing together 70’s inspired colors with 18th century furniture, our team creates events that will astonish your guests.
3. The hottest color trends for 2019 include Matte Black, Millennial Pink, Burnt Yellow, and Jewel Tones.
Incorporating Trendy Colors: These colors can be added to décor in a variety of ways. Think about including a matte black coffee table top with jewel toned roses for a centerpiece or going bold with millennial pink plants instead of the natural green color – talk about a showstopper!
4. Acrylic furniture accents are the new craze for 2019! It’s the ultimate way to make your event playful yet chic.
Incorporating Acrylic Furniture Accents: Yes, you can have acrylic furniture accents and still have a very comfortable couch… just make the legs of the couch or chair are acrylic! Or throw a plush faux fur throw over the acrylic chair to bring some warmth and comfort. Even the smallest acrylic touches will make your event stand out.
5. Floral décor is flourishing in 2019. Last year was all about the small floral patterns, this year is about all floral patterns!
Incorporating Floral Patterns: This means the creativity is limitless. You can use florals in wallpaper, table linens, and even rugs hung against the wall for an unusual twist on the typical wall décor. Floral patterns will add a lively touch to your meeting or event. Just say yes to flower power!
Your perfect 2019 event awaits you! Let UV’s in-house creative team design an event for you that incorporates some of the hottest trends of 2019. Our team is ready to blend the perfect combination of color, accents, and aesthetics to impress your execs and guests!
