Industry Leading Standards

Doing The Right Things Because They Are The Right Things To Do

By taking the lead on important industry issues, UV gives our clients peace of mind in every way. We recognize the potential dangers associated with our job, and we proactively take precautions to protect our clients and their guests from harm. Not all DMCs take these extra measures, but we do so because it’s the right thing to do.

Right Thing: We carry $5 million in general and professional liability insurance. ($1 million is the generally accepted insurance standard for DMCs.) Many DMCs do not carry both types of insurance, but it’s essential to understand that professional liability is just as, if not more important, than general liability.
Why it Matters: If anything goes terribly wrong, your company and guests are protected financially.

Right Thing: We are the first DMC in the area to require and provide Emergency First Response training including CPR and basic first aid and we have trained over 90 staff.
Why it Matters: Who do you want assisting your guests in the event of a medical emergency?

Right Thing: Our field staffers are paid as employees, per Federal mandate, not contractors; therefore, they are covered by our worker’s comp insurance.
Why it Matters: If a member of our team is injured during your program, the buck stops with UV. However, as a contractor, they are able to sue your company and/or your client. Not all DMCs treat their field staff as employees because it is more expensive.

Right Thing: We have a dedicated transportation dispatcher on staff with over 40 years of transportation experience and deep-rooted relationships.
Why it Matters: You expect the best, and we have him. Tony’s knowledge of vehicles, drivers, field staff, loading challenges, and potential pitfalls is unrivaled. Plain and simple, our transportation team makes you look good.

Right Thing: We have invested in company-wide workflow processes.
Why it Matters: You have the reassurance that vital program details won’t slip through the cracks. Our elaborate processes guarantee consistent performance and provide systems to ensure that nothing is overlooked.

Right Thing: UV’s President led the fight to pass two DMC tax bills in the Texas State legislature in 2009 resulting in the first ever legislative definition of a “qualified destination management company”.
Why it Matters: With these new laws in place, clients pay less when working with “qualified” Texas DMCs because those DMC services will not bear new sales and margins taxes that would otherwise have gone into effect.
